IMG Grows Overseas

Just last week, IMG acquired CSI Sports. CSI Sports was previously a part of Octagon. In addition to having TV rights for Wimbledon and the Rugby Cup, IMG will now hold the rights for the Football Association, Wales Cricket Board, and other groups [IMG deal makes TV sports rights hot properties again].

It looks like IMG is not going to just sit back and watch as CAA tries to use its entertainment clout to buy the sports representation business.

What an extremely informative CAA site! But seeing how my knowledge of JAVA/HTML code is typing into this comment box, I am not one to talk.

I heard rumors about Octagon potentially selling off CSI this summer. Not sure who this deal benefits. Octagon leaves TV, IMG becomes more aggressive in TV. IMG leaves team sports, Octagon becomes more aggressive in team sports. My biased opinion tends to think the Execs at Octagon made the right choice. When Chris Guiness was taken off the Octagon site, I figured something was going to happen. Octagon, (even though they have musical groups and the dutchess of York) still refuses to go fully into entertainment with actors, etc…
