In Case You Have Not Noticed..

Our internship database has been growing steadily as of late. Go click on the “Internships” tab on the top menu if you are interested in learning more about what some of the big sports agencies are offering in terms of internships. Since day 1 of writing this blog, I have stressed the importance of gaining an internship if you have any desire to enter this profession. Practically every interview that we conduct with agents brings up the same point. If you do not get an internship, it will be extremely tough to break into this industry.

A few more notes:

  • I realize that the links tab is still messed up. I am doing my best to try and fix this. If you or someone you know is knowledgeable about WordPress/writing code, see if they can help.
  • I finally finished my Senior Thesis and turned it in yesterday. As previously promised, I will post that up soon for your enjoyment (if you are a nerd and want to read about Republicans and stem cells).
  • We are working on another great column to add to the site. I do not want to give away the secret, but one of our contributor’s is working hard to have that up soon.
  • Last, if you have any ideas for additions to the site, send them my way. I appreciate the responses that I received for post ideas. Now I am asking for innovative things to add to the actual site. Feel free to e-mail me (link is on “tips” tab)!

Darren’s passion for sports law led him to establish Sports Agent Blog on December 31, 2005, initially titled “I Want To Be A Sports Agent.” The platform, created as a New Year’s resolution, has grown into a cornerstone of the sports agency community, offering in-depth analysis of industry trends, legal disputes, and agent-player dynamics. His commitment to the field is further evidenced by his representation of numerous athletes and sports agents, as well as his prior role as an Adjunct Professor at Indiana University Bloomington, where he developed and taught a course on Sport Agency Management from 2011 to 2014.

Darren’s contributions have been recognized with prestigious honors, including the University of Florida’s 40 Under 40 Award, the University of Florida Levin College of Law’s Outstanding Young Alumnus Award, and designation as the best lawyer in Fort Lauderdale by Fort Lauderdale Magazine. He remains an active voice in the sports law community, sharing insights through his weekly NIL newsletter and his X posts, engaging a broad audience on legal developments in sports.
