Nightmare Clients for the Week of June 10th-June 17th

I hope everyone out there had a great Father’s Day. In the spirit of Father’s Day, maybe these Nightmare Clients’ fathers won’t be too angry when they see their sons’ names in this column. 🙂

1. Hector “Macho” Camacho was sentenced to the maximum seven years in prison Monday for burglary, but the eight-time world champion could avoid spending time in a cell. Harrison County Circuit Judge Steve Simpson suspended six years of the sentence and said Camacho could serve one year under house arrest if authorities in Puerto Rico agree to monitor him. That would be followed by two years’ probation. The deal would allow the 44-year-old Camacho to continue working. But if he violates any of the conditions set at sentencing, he would have to serve the entire seven years [Camacho sentenced to 7 years for burglary, could avoid jail].

2. A 17-year-old girl who is in foster care with a relative of Tampa Bay Devil Ray Outfielder Elijah Dukes told the Tampa police that Dukes got her pregnant. The article goes on to say that Dukes will not be charged with a crime. That’s because, while the age of consent in Florida is 18, if the other person is 24 or younger, age of consent is only 16. The Devil Rays outfielder was born on June 26, 1984, so…[Elijah Dukes Continues To Bat 1.000].

3. Police say the 16-year-old and an 18-year-old friend were walking along Wetherington Boulevard near Mt. Zion Road just after 11 p.m. Friday night when, they say a black Navigator or Escalade pulled up next to them. According to the police report, a white male jumped out and started punching the 16-year-old in the face. “From that, the victim tells us another gentleman got out of the vehicle the same vehicle and in their attempt to get away, was shoved to the ground by this African American gentleman.” The teen identified that man as Bengals receiver Chris Henry, and says receiver Reggie McNeill was also in the vehicle. The teen also alleges that they were throwing beer bottles at him as he tried to run away [Chris Henry Is Just Making Up Offenses Now].

4. Green Bay Packers linebacker Nick Barnett was arrested early Sunday after a disturbance at a nightclub. Police said in a statement that Barnett was taken into custody for battery after allegedly being involved in a physical altercation about 2 a.m. at the Wet. He was taken to Outagamie County Jail in Appleton and released within an hour after posting a $500 cash bond [Barnett taken into custody following physical altercation].

Pacman and Vick should make an appearance for next week’s list for their ongoing legal troubles (shootings at strip clubs and hosting dog-fights).

Pac Man is digging a bigger hole for himself. I believe in second chances, but Pac Man is really screwing things up. He won’t listen to his mom, grandma or NFL Commissioner. I hope somebody can tame him…

Pacman’s biggest problem right now is that his reputation precedes him. Even if Pacman was on the other side of the country minding his own business, if members of his “entourage” got in trouble at an ATL strip club you’d see Pacman’s face on every sports news outlet for the next 24 hours. I think this recent episode really shows how big of a hole he has already dug himself into. Anyone think he has a snowball’s chance in hell of being able to appeal the suspension and return after week 10?

I would say that Pacman’s entire NFL career is in serious jeapordy right now. At the rate he’s going, he may never return to play football again. I also think there is a zero percent chance that his suspension will be reduced for good behavior in light of the recent felony indictment for the Vegas incident.
