Dynasty Notes – Part 3

Dynasty Notes will take you through the days when Darren and I (Matthew Vuckovich) did not even know each other, to Dynasty becoming an LLC, to signing our first client, and beyond. If you have not yet read Dynasty Notes – Part 2, go ahead and read it. Enjoy Dynasty Notes – Part 3.

With the new year ahead of us, Darren and I were more focused and driven than ever before.  Inside, we both knew that the year 2007 would be something special for the both of us.

The blog was growing and growing everyday, and everything seemed to be happening at the right time.  It seemed as though the harder we worked, the luckier we got. Darren continued to update the site with great information and informative news, and we knew the blog was on the rise once again.  We were being featured on such websites like Deadspin.com, which definitely aided the development of our fan base.  With Darren in charge of daily posts, it was my job to really get the new section “Interview With The Agent” rolling.  My first interview was with agent Paul Sheehy, and it turned out better than expected.  I knew after that interview good things were in store for us.  Soon, we were able to land interviews with big time agents such as Steve Kauffman, Mark Steinberg, and Matt Sosnick.  These interviews increased the credibility of the blog and also helped get my name and Darren’s name out to the industry. All of the agents that we have interviewed have been nothing but great to the both of us.  Any questions that we have had has been graciously answered. As time went on, we became more trusted names in the sports agent industry, and the trust between Darren and I continued to grow.

March 2007 was approaching, and the blog was looking better then ever.  Darren was finishing his senior year at the University of Florida and I was finishing my senior year at the University of Illinois.  Even though we were so far apart, we talked almost every day on the phone.  These talks really laid a solid ground work for the partnership that was soon to come.   As our conversations turned more into business talk, we both knew that we had something big potentially brewing.  Not only were we both able to talk about the industry, but we both envisioned similar ideas.  These ideas would soon become the stepping stones of Dynasty.  I had a good friend who played in the NHL and was getting ready to negotiate a new contract.  This is when Darren and I really began to talk business.
