Dynasty Adds Some International Flavor To Its Baseball Division

Gainesville, Fla. [March 2, 2009] Dynasty Athlete Representation is proud to announce its tenth baseball division client, Paul Rutgers.  Rutgers was born in Melbourne, Australia in 1984 and already has a ton of experience playing baseball throughout the world.

Paul Rutgers is a 5’10, 200 lbs utility player who can play any infield or outfield position. He was signed at the age of 18 as a non-drafted free agent by the Minnesota Twins in ’01 and spent 4 seasons w/ Twins. In ’03, Rutgers hit .353 with 0 HR’s, 21 RBI’s and 16 SB’s in 56 games with the GCL Twins. He played in the ’05 World Baseball Classic for Australia (hit .385 and 4 stolen bases), ’06 WBC with Australia, ’06 Claxton Shield for the Victoria Aces (an annual tournament in Australia), ’07 Claxton Shield (Paul batted .296 to help his team to a title; he won the Gold Glove at second base), and ’08 Claxton Shield (hit .319 with 15 runs scored, 4 stolen bases in 12 games).

Paul Rutgers is the starting LF’er for the South African team in the ’09 WBC. South Africa is in a very tough Pool B, which includes Cuba, Mexico, and Paul’s former team, Australia.  Paul’s toughest match will be the very first game of the pool: South Africa vs. Cuba at 2 p.m. EST on March 8.  The game may be seen on MLB Network and ESPN Deportes.  Pool B will play its games at Estadio Foro Sol in Mexico City, Mexico.

Paul Rutgers and Dynasty hope that the 2009 World Baseball Classic will be Paul’s stage to show the world that he is ready for a triumphant return to professional organized baseball.

Great to see you have Paul Rutgers on your books.
If anyone is wondering about him, checkout WBC website, select team South Africa, Rutgers leap video, a sample of what he can do.
As a supporter of Paul’s old home team, the Mulgrave Rebels in Victoria Australia, I wish him all the best in the future.
cheers, Jack Wilks
