Former Sacramento Kings Star and NBA veteran, Doug Christie, recently decided to jump into the business of sports management with the initiation of Christie Sports Management/ Athletic Training Firm. The fourteen year NBA veteran is starting out big withhis firm headquarters based in Seattle, Washington and offices in Los Angeles and Sacramento, California.
The main focus of the firm will be “player development and mentoring.” Christies’s firm will be dedicated to helping low income athletes and kids by offering free scholarships to athletes and inner city kids wanting to learn how to play basketball. After his NBA career, Christie is dedicated to giving back.
Christie states, “I built my company on the need to give back, and to share the knowledge and experience I have with all of the athletes enrolled in my firm.” The firm will help mentor low income kids and will provide a great service to the community, however Christie says that it will also concentrate on signing and mentoring promising athletes and helping them enter the NBA.
