Creative Artists Agency has been relatively quiet so far during the current player-agent signing period, but the mega agency recently signed Oklahoma State cornerback, Justin Gilbert. Agent Jimmy Sexton will represent the Huntsville, Texas native.
Sexton — one of the more recognizable sports agents in the world also represents college football coaches Nick Saban (Alabama), Gus Malzahn (Auburn), and Jimbo Fisher (Florida State).
NFLDraftScout.com ranks Gilbert as the No. 2 available cornerback in May’s Draft. The 6-foot, 200-pound Gilbert is a projected first round selection. In 2013, Gilbert was a First-Team All-Big 12 selection and now is the Big 12 all-time leader in kickoff return touchdowns with six.
“Gilbert is the big-play specialist,” said Rob Rang of NFLDraftScout.com. “An extraordinary athlete with the hands, vision and speed to score any time he gets his hands on the ball.”
According to Forbes.com, CAA is the world’s most valuable sports agency, representing the likes of Tony Romo (Dallas Cowboys), Chris Bosh (Miami Heat), Chris Paul (Los Angeles Clippers), Peyton Manning (Denver Broncos), and many others.
