A week after Priority Sports landed Texas A&M wide receiver Mike Evans, the Chicago-based agency added another wideout to its client roster: Alabama’s Kevin Norwood. NFLPA Certified Contract Advisor, Deryk Gilmore, will represent the D’Iberville, Mississippi native.
“A great signing for our company with Kevin Norwood out of the University of Alabama,” Gilmore said. One of the leaders of the team, “Clutch” was known as the go-to-guy for A.J. McCarron when Alabama needed to make a play. A versatile receiver who can find holes in the defense and make plays, he is very similar to Marvin Harrison.
“When you look at receivers’ stats, you normally look at number of catches but the most impressive stat is this kid has only dropped four balls in four years. That’s impressive.”
The 6-foot-2, 195-pound Norwood finished 2013 with 38 receptions for 568 yards and seven touchdowns. He recently accepted an invitation to play in the Reese’s Senior Bowl on January 25 in Mobile, Alabama. NFLDraftScout.com projects Norwood as a seventh-round selection in May’s Draft. According to Gilmore, Norwood will be training at D1 Sports Training in Jackson, Mississippi.
