Will Wilcox is an emerging PGA Tour golfer that plays with no fear. Will’s agent, Drew Carr, describes him as “a perfect example of the emerging ‘modern golfer’ because he is extremely long off the tee, deadly accurate with his irons and [has] a soft touch around the greens.” These qualities have helped Will develop into a successful golfer on and off the course. During the 2013 Web.com season, Will ranked top five in total driving, consecutive cuts made (14 in a row), all around ranking, birdies per round (4.5 average) and scoring average (69.27). Additionally, Will won the 2013 South Georgia Classic and had a final round score of 59 at the Utah Championship.
Off the golf course, Will has had a successful sponsorship with Harmony Outdoor Brands since 2012. Harmony is a full service provider of premium grass varieties, sod and irrigation installation and professional lawn care services. Also, Harmony is a turfgrass variety supplier for Home Depot and Lowes. Thus, it is no surprise Harmony’s sponsorship of Will has thrived because of the natural fit an outdoor services company has with the PGA Tour.
Harmony Outdoor Brands has a strong belief in Will’s natural golf talent. In fact, Harmony made Will the company’s first sponsored golfer on the PGA Tour. “For Will, representing a new brand on Tour that had not ever sponsored another player before was a way for him to distinguish himself from other players, which in a way can help to boost a players confidence—an ever important trait in professional golf,” Carr said describing the Harmony sponsorship. Harmony’s belief and confidence in Will’s talent mirrors the success he has had on the golf course, finishing 2013 with 4 top 10 and 8 top 25 finishes. On January 15, 2014, Harmony Outdoor Brands announced it would renew Will’s sponsorship through the end of the 2014 season. With Harmony’s continued support of Will, he will likely have another successful 2014 campaign.
