Wasserman Media Group announced that it will open an office in Dubai that will solely focus on corporate consulting and event management in golf. David Collins, who joined Wasserman last week, will serve as the Senior Vice President of the Dubai office. Collins has extensive experience in the golf industry. He was involved with the European Tour’s “Race to Dubai” and he played a major role in securing an endorsement deal for Rory McIlroy with Jumeirah Hotels.
“We see prospects for real business in Dubai and, more broadly, the UAE,” said Malcolm Turner, Wasserman Golf Division Managing Director. He further noted, “This is not a speculative undertaking, as there is a true business underpinning to this venture. And in David, we have an ideal partner to lead the growth of our business. He’s built a nice relationship base in that region.”
Wasserman Media Group believes expanding its business to Dubai will put the group in better position to establish a global presence. Wasserman currently has offices abroad in London, Singapore, Sao Paulo, and Mumbai. The company’s future goal “is to develop more global sports marketing business, primarily in the Middle East, from this Dubai office.”
