Memphis Agent Day 2014

The University of Memphis athletics department, in coordination with Collegiate Sports Advisors, has announced that it will host an Agent-Day on April 12, 2014.  The Agent-Day will allow for draft eligible student-athletes and/or their parents to meet with athlete agents to discuss representation opportunities for their future professional sports careers.

All agents who are interested in meeting with any student-athlete will be required to show proof of certification with the National Football League Player’s Association (NFLPA) and/or National Basketball Player’s Association (NBPA), as well as The Athlete Agent Reform Act of 2011, Tennessee.

Collegiate Sports Advisors (CSA) was founded in 2011 as a non-profit aimed at helping to protect the integrity of amateur athletics. CSA is dedicated to providing amateurism protection education and professional agent selection counseling to college athletes bound for the NFL, NBA, MLB and overseas leagues. CSA utilizes its expertise in the intricacies of the agent selection process to protect not only the student-athletes, but also the institutions and coaches they represent.

All sports agents interested in interviewing with Memphis student-athletes must completely fill out the following form and press submit once it is complete.

Darren Adam Heitner, Esq., is a preeminent sports attorney and the founder of Heitner Legal, P.L.L.C., a Fort Lauderdale-based law firm specializing in sports law, contract negotiations, intellectual property, and arbitration. Darren’s passion for sports law led him to establish Sports Agent Blog on December 31, 2005, initially titled “I Want To Be A Sports Agent.” The platform, created as a New Year’s resolution, has grown into a cornerstone of the sports agency community, offering in-depth analysis of industry trends, legal disputes, and agent-player dynamics. His commitment to the field is further evidenced by his representation of numerous athletes and sports agents, as well as his prior role as an Adjunct Professor at Indiana University Bloomington, where he developed and taught a course on Sport Agency Management from 2011 to 2014.

Darren’s contributions have been recognized with prestigious honors, including the University of Florida’s 40 Under 40 Award, the University of Florida Levin College of Law’s Outstanding Young Alumnus Award, and designation as the best lawyer in Fort Lauderdale by Fort Lauderdale Magazine.
