In two months, veteran sports agent Leigh Steinberg will host his very own ‘Agent Academy’ in Newport Beach, California at his agency’s headquarters. Steinberg, the model for the 1990s movie Jerry Maguire, has represented 60-plus first round selections in his career along with eight No. 1 overall picks.
For an individual who has endured messy industry breakups, bouts with alcoholism and 40-plus years entrenched in the sports agency industry,Steinberg can offer attendees wide-ranging perspectives on both business and life. ESPN’s ‘Outside The Lines’ recently profiled Steinberg and his career during a short seven-minute video.
The day-long event this upcoming Fall will include a handful of different sessions related to the sports agency business: an overview of the industry, how to scout talent, what entails a great deal for your client and a review of the standard representation agreement.
If you’re interested in attending the event on October 11, you can find more information on registration here.
