The Sports Industry Academy Summer Program hosted at U.C. Santa Barbara is a unique educational program that provides mature high school scholars from across the country with an introduction to the Multi-Billion Dollar Sports Industry. Scholars will be taught the inner-workings of the sports industry by prominent sports business executives including Trevor Bukstein (Assistant GM, Phoenix Suns), Damon Jones (Sr. Vice President, Club Counsel, Washington Nationals), and Janet Sevilla (Community Affairs Manager, Atlanta Braves) just to name a few.
In addition, the Sports Industry Academy Scholars will be provided with an introduction to the academic environment of U.C. Santa Barbara and receive an exclusive and comprehensive daylong workshop by Elroy Pinks (Sr. Admissions Counselor, UC Santa Barbara) on how to navigate the university admissions process, including keys on writing a “winning” personal statement.
In summary, the Sports Industry Academy Summer Program will offer high school scholars the opportunity to learn the college admissions process, explore the business of sports, and experience college life first hand.
