The second year, 28-year old Cuba native has played in 57 games this season and is hitting .287 with 12 HR and 40 RBI. He has played in 202 games in his young career with a .308 average, 48 career HR and 147 RBI.

Prior to the MLB, he played in the Cuban National Series for the Cienfuegos before defecting to the United States in August 2013. He was granted free agency by MLB and signed with the White Sox that October. He played five seasons in the Cuban National Series and represented Cuba in the 2013 World Baseball Classic, where he batted .383 and hit three home runs while recording nine RBIs in six games.

Relativity Sports represents more major leagues and has negotiated more contract dollars than any other professional baseball representation firm. The signing of Abreu adds to an already impressive client list. He joins the likes of Chris Archer (P, Rays), Aroldis Chapman (P, Reds), Nelson Cruz (OF, Mariners), Paul Goldschmidt (1B, Diamondbacks), and David Ortiz (DH, Red Sox) among many others. Diego Bentz works in all areas of Relativity’s business regarding the representation of clients.
