Clemson defensive end, Shaq Lawson, has decided to forgo his final year of eligibility and declare for the 2016 NFL Draft. He has announced his intentions via his Instagram account, where he says he has signed with Relativity Sports and agent Tory Dandy for his representation.
The 6’3″ 270 pound Lawson played in all 15 of Clemson’s games this year, racking up 60 total tackles, 25.5 tackles for a loss and 12.5 sacks. For his career, he tallied 123 tackles, 45.5 tackles for a loss and 20 sacks.
Lawson was in the news prior to the College Football Playoff National Championship this year after suffering a knee injury early in the first quarter of the Orange Bowl against Oklahoma. He did not return to the game, but started and played in the National Championship game against Alabama.
He is listed as the 8th overall prospect, 2nd at his position and a projected first round draft pick according to NFL Draft Scout.
