Former Oklahoma wide receiver, Sterling Shepard, is expected to be selected in the 2016 NFL Draft this April. However, he has already decided to switch agencies, leaving SportsTrust Advisors for Athletes First, according to SportsBusinessDaily.com.
At Athletes First, Shepard will be represented by Justin Schulman. He joins the likes of several high profile prospects expected to be drafted, including projected first-round pick and former Florida State cornerback Jalen Ramsey. In addition to Ramsey, Athletes First represents Baylor wide receiver Corey Coleman, Duke safety Jeremy Cash, Utah State outside linebacker Kyler Fackrell, Notre Dame defensive tackle Dominique Alexander, USC quarterback Cody Kessler, and Michigan State center Jack Allen among others expected to be selected come April.
The 5’10” 193 pound wide receiver finished his Sooners career with 223 receptions for 3,482 yards and 26 touchdowns. As a senior he was a semifinalist for the Biletnikoff Award, which is presented to the most outstanding receiver in college football. He participated in the Senior Bowl, earning Practice Player of the Week among wide receivers.
His father was a receiver for the Sooners from 1983-96, which was the inspiration for his wearing the number 3. According to NFL Draft Scout, he is the 10th ranked receiver and is a projected 2-3 round pick.
