Per a press release by Berk Communications, today, Roc Nation Sports announced the signing of Florida State University guard and 2017 NBA Draft prospect Dwayne Bacon.
Bacon’s freshman season at Florida State saw him lead the Seminoles in scoring (15.8 points per game) and rebounding (5.8 rebounds per game), becoming the first freshman in Florida State history to lead the team in both categories during the same season. At season’s end, Bacon was named to the 2015-16 All-ACC Freshman Team. Bacon again led the team in scoring with 17.2 points per game his sophomore season, carrying the Seminoles to 26 wins and a #3 seed in the 2017 NCAA Tournament.
Bacon was born in Lakeland, Florida, he graduated from basketball powerhouse Oak Hill Academy, where he earned 2015 Parade All-American honors and was named a McDonald’s All-American. Bacon committed to play collegiately at Florida State in September of 2014.
Off the court, Bacon is dedicated to giving back to his community – he has spent time volunteering with the Special Olympics and the Boys and Girls Clubs of America.
Bacon joins a Roc Nation Sports basketball family that now consists of 13 athletes, including Kevin Durant, Justise Winslow, Rudy Gay, Caris Levert, Jeremy Lin, Willie Cauley-Stein, Ty Lawson, Henry Ellenson, Mike Gbinije, Skylar Diggins, James Young and Josh Hart.
