Per a company press release, Lagardère Sports announced plans to increase its operations in Shanghai to further enhance the services provided to the agency’s international and domestic clients. The agency will use its deep local knowledge and insights to help brands and rights holders achieve long term value in China, as the country is rapidly becoming a major hub for sports and business.
The agency currently has an office in Jing’An, a central district in Shanghai. The team consists of local Chinese experts who provide rights management, brand consulting and market development advice to Lagardère Sports clients looking to increase their brand profile on a global basis. Additionally, the office provides advice to international brands and rights holders that want to expand their businesses in China.
Lagardère Sports is no stranger to China as it is the leading sports agency in Asia and has been in operations for more than two decades. The agency, through its partnership with the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has spearheaded the development of national and club football (soccer) across Asia.
