Excel Sports Management has hired Eric Eways as its Vice President of Business Development, the agency announced in a press release last week. He brings a variety of industry experience to his new role, most recently serving as the Head of Partnership Sales (Americas) for City Football Group.
As the VP of Business Developent, Eways will lead endorsement and partnership efforts for Excel’s NBA clients and will provide sales leadership across the agency’s talent and property clients, according to the release. He has achieved success in the sponsorship realm in his roles with The Madison Square Garden Company and Legends Sales and marketing.
Excel Sports Management was ranked the second most valuable sports agency by Forbes (as of September 2017). With 139 clients in baseball, basketball and golf, there is approximately $3.39 billion worth of contracts under management. Now in its 16th year, the New York City-based agency boasts some of the representation industry’s biggest names in Casey Close (baseball), Mark Steinberg (golf), and Jeff Schwartz (basketball).
