Murray State point guard Ja Morant has chosen to be represented by agent Jim Tanner, president of Tandem Sports and Entertainment.
Morant just completed an electric sophomore season, averaging an impressive 24.5 points, 10.0 assists and 5.7 rebounds before putting up a triple-double in the first round of the NCAA March Madness Tournament against Marquette.
“Ja is an incredibly talented basketball player and a future NBA All-Star,” Tanner said in a press release. “But what impresses us the most is his professionalism, maturity and engaging personality. It is with great pleasure that we welcome Ja and his family to the Tandem team. We are excited to work with Ja and look forward to putting him in position for a long and successful career on and off the court.”
Morant’s draft stock has experienced a meteoric rise since the beginning season and he is now widely considered the next best prospect on the board after Duke’s Zion Williamson. If Morant is selected at No. 2, that would put him in line to sign a four-year rookie deal in the ballpark of $40 million.
Tanner adds Morant to a client list that boasts current NBA players Jarrett Allen, Thaddeus Young, Justin Jackson, Jeremy Lin, John Henson and Raymond Felton as well as former stars Tim Duncan and Dominique Wilkins.
