Before tearing his meniscus in his right knee, Kelly Oubre Jr. was averaging career highs with 18.7 points and 6.4 rebounds a game. After undergoing surgery and missing the last seven games before the NBA suspended its season, Oubre is expected to make a full recovery. With the increased time to recover, Oubre Jr. also has an opportunity to focus on his off-the-court business endeavors.
The Suns forward has decided to sign a management agreement with Torrel Harris, father and agent of the Philadelphia 76ers Tobias Harris. Torrel Harris works for Unique Sports Management and recently helped negotiate a 5-year $180 million deal between Tobias and the Sixers. In addition, Harris has represented players such as Hall of Famers George Gervin and Lynette Woodard to name a few.
The move is projected to put Oubre Jr. in place for a strong market as the standout forward becomes an unrestricted free agent in 2021 at the prime age of 25.
