Golf With Willis McGahee And Help Underprivileged Children

Public relations executives take note: I am more than happy to publicize your athlete clients charity events.  It is great to champion athletes for the great things they do off of the field/court.  We chastise them enough for their unscrupulous acts.

Willis McGahee of the Baltimore Ravens will be hosting his first annual charity golf tournament on Monday, June 27, 2011 at the TPC Blue Monster at Doral in Miami, Florida (4400 N.W. 87th Street, Miami, Florida 33178).  Funds from the event will go to the Willis McGahee Foundation, which serves to aid underprivileged children by providing them with the tools and encouragement they need to become self-sufficient young people.

Athletes and celebrities expected to attend include, Ed Reed of the Baltimore Ravens, Derrick Mason of the Baltimore Ravens, Phillip Buchannon of the Washington Redskins, and Antwan Barnes of the San Diego Chargers.

The event will begin with registration and breakfast at 7:00 a.m.  It will be followed by a Shotgun Tee-off at 8:30 a.m. and then an Awards Lunch Reception and Auction at 1:30 p.m.

It’s always nice to see athletes giving back to the community. After all, they are regular people just like you and me looking to help others. I, too, feel like they don’t get enough love for the good things they are doing off the field. This certainly paints a better picture of Willis McGahee in my eyes.
