Drew Rosenhaus just lost LeSean McCoy of the Philadelphia Eagles for the second time in a matter of roughly a month. But as Rosenhaus loses one great client, he gains another. Actually, the signing of this former Florida Gator happened a couple of weeks ago.
Rosenhaus is now the agent of Cleveland Browns cornerback Joe Haden. Haden was previously represented by Malik Shareef, a Washington D.C. attorney who represents athletes through his DSI Sports entity. Shareef also represents 2011 NFL Draft picks Ryan Williams (#38 overall taken by the Arizona Cardinals) and Rashad Carmichael (#127 overall taken by the Houston Texans). Shareef’s season got off to a rough start when Ryan Williams went down with a season-ending injury. The additional loss of Haden must be tough to swallow.
“I guess [Haden] felt like he needed someone bigger to represent him,” said Shareef. While Shareef is shocked by the switch in representation, he said that he will treat it as a learning experience.

This saddens me for a number of reasons. With that type of client list, I’m not sure how Drew can actually make a connection with his players.
