Athletes First Hasn’t Signed Andrew Luck, But Building Impressive NFL Draft Class

Yesterday, Twitter was abuzz with people retweeting a gentleman named Joey Roberts, who wrote, “Andrew Luck will be represented by @athletesfirst Dave Dunn.”  That tweet has since been discarded.  Roberts’ profile also had stated he was an “ESPN NFL Production Projects Coordinator.”  That biographical information has also been scrapped.  People believed him. He probably believed himself.  Yet the rumor was false.

While Athletes First has not signed Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck, the agency has been busy locking up very talented clients for the 2012 NFL Draft.  Two impressive new Athletes First clients include Melvin Ingram and Alfonzo Dennard.

Melvin Ingram in an outside linebacker from South Carolina.  NFLDraftScout.com lists him as the best outside linebacker in his class and the 14th best player overall.  He finished the 2011 season with 8.5 sacks and 13.5 tackles for loss.  He has had some problems with his foot, which will be something scouts will be interested in testing.

Alfonzo Dennard is a cornerback from Nebraska.  NFLDraftScout.com ranks him as the 3rd best cornerback in the country leading up to the NFL Draft and the 20th best player overall.  Both of the website’s mock drafts currently listed project him being the #14 overall pick to the Dallas Cowboys.
