Cantlay is leaving his school (UCLA) to compete professionally on the PGA Tour. He had two years of eligibility remaining, which he will now forfeit. Cantlay has placed his trust in Mark Steinberg of Excel Sports to assist him in his efforts to earn money off the links. He will try to get his PGA Tour card without having to attend Q-school.

It has not taken long for veteran golf agent Mark Steinberg to establish his new practice at Excel Sports Management. Since joining Excel Sports, Steinberg has built the company’s golf division into one of the best in the business. They represent Tiger Woods, Tiger’s niece Cheyenne Woods, Gary Woodland, Matt Kuchar, and now Patrick Cantlay.
