Michael Carter-Williams will be a first round selection in the 2013 NBA Draft.  In fact, it is very likely that he is selected with a team’s lottery pick.  The sophomore point guard from Syracuse is listed somewhere between 6’5 and 6’6, which gives him a good amount of length and height for his position.  But he is also an excellent ball handler, which has led many to believe that he will remain as a point guard at the next level.

Earlier this month, Carter-Williams declared for the NBA Draft and did not retract his name prior to the NCAA’s Early Entry Withdrawal Deadline.  Thus, the Syracuse point guard no longer has to worry about relinquishing his student-athlete eligibility should he sign with an agent – that eligibility is long gone.  And according to a source, Carter-Williams is likely to make his agent selection known by the end of this week.

Sports Agent Blog has learned that Carter-Williams held meetings with agents and supposedly narrowed his agent selection process down to three groups: ASM Sports, Excel Sports Management and the new Roc Nation Sports/Creative Artists Agency (CAA) partnership.  The latest information received by Sports Agent Blog is that Carter-Williams has removed Roc Nation/CAA from the mix and is now between Andy Miller of ASM and Jeff Schwartz of Excel Sports.

If Excel Sports Management earns the right to represent Carter-Williams, he will become the second projected first round point guard represented by the firm.  C.J. McCollum, a senior point guard from Lehigh is assumed to be a first round pick, and has committed to Excel.  The company also has other projected first rounders in Anthony Bennett of UNLV and Cody Zeller of Indiana.

Meanwhile, ASM Sports is representing point guard Khalif Wyatt from Temple and Elijah Johnson from Kansas, but neither of the two are likely to be first round selections, let alone lottery picks.  As reported earlier today, Andy Miller also recently signed former Florida forward Erik Murphy.
