An agency best known for its expansive baseball representation practice has signed one of the best up-and-coming professional golfers. Meister Sports Management, owned and founded by Barry Meister, has represented MLB standouts including Randy Johnson, Tim Wakefield and Sergio Romo. Meister’s newest client is golfer Steven Fox, who played at the University of Tennessee Chattanooga, won the 2012 U.S. Amateur Championship and has recently turned pro.
In addition to Fox, Meister Sports Management has also been busy signing up other pro golfers. It recently signed PGA Tour golfer Ken Duke, 2012 Greenbrier Classic champion Ted Potter Jr. and 8-time winner (3 wins on the PGA Tour) Jerry Kelly.
Meister describes his golf division as “boutique” and claims that he will only take on an elite group of players, which include the aforementioned Kelly, Potter Jr., Duke and now Fox.
