Arguably the top-rated linebacker available in the 2014 NFL Draft recently signed a Standard Representation Agreement with the Wisconsin-based agency, Sports Advisors.
UCLA’s Anthony Barr — a native of San Pedro, California — will be represented by NFLPA Certified Contract Advisor, Michael Bauer. Barr is projected to get drafted in the first round, according to two mock drafts on NFLDraftScout.com. The site compared Barr to Green Bay Packers’ Clay Matthews.
“Barr’s evolution from running back to outside linebacker and a potential top-five selection in the 2014 NFL draft is one of the more extraordinary developments in college football over the past two years,” NFLDraftScout.com said. “Scouts feel that Barr is stout enough to handle strong-side duties in the 4-3 alignment but believe his best fit is as a stand-up outside linebacker in the 3-4.”
Barr finished the 2013 season with 66 tackles and 10 sacks along with five forced fumbles. A four-star recruit coming out of high school, he was named a First-Team AP All-American in 2013. In preparation for the 2014 NFL Combine/Draft, he will be training at Athletic Gaines in Los Angeles, California.
