According to a Tweet by Alex Marvez of FoxSports.com, Rick Smith has been selecting to head the coaching division of Priority Sports. He replaces Mike Tannenbaum, who is now the Executive Vice President of Football Operations for the Miami Dolphins.
Rick Smith is a partner at Priority Sports and is involved in all aspects of client representation and business operations. He will now be in charge of the newly formed Coaches, Front Office & Broadcast division which is dedicated to overseeing the contract negotiation and representation of football and basketball coaches for both professional and collegiate sports, NFL and NBA front office executives as well as the agency’s broadcasting operations.
Mike Tannenbaum began his new role with the Dolphins on February 1st, after serving as a consultant to the team last year. The ex-New York Jets general manager has worked as an agent for coaches since the end of the 2012 NFL season. As Executive VP of Football Operations, Tannenbaum is reunited with Dawn Aponte, the Dolphins Executive VP of Football Administration, whom he worked with in the Jets’ front office. The duo is the Dolphins’ lone executive vice presidents, according to Miami’s front office organizational chart.
