Linebacker Nick Moody has signed with NFL agents Drew Rosenhaus and Jason Katz of Rosenhaus Sports, as reported today by Sports Business Journal’s Liz Mullen on Twitter. Moody was previously represented by agents Tony Paige and Chitta Mallik of Perennial Sports.
A sixth-round selection in 2013, Nick Moody played four collegiate seasons at Florida State University, and has seen 20 games of NFL action in his young NFL career with the San Francisco 49ers. Moody, who hopes to soar to the top of the depth chart this offseason, may be expected to make an immediate impact in the Bay Area given the absence of fellow linebackers Patrick Willis and Chris Borland, whose controversial retirements came unexpectedly last month.
Currently listed as the 54th-highest paid 3-4 outside linebacker by overthecap.com, Moody enters the 2015 NFL season in the third of a 4-year contract valued at a total of approximately $2.26 million.
No stranger to the headlines, Drew Rosenhaus’ most recent work includes a 5-year/$40-million deal for RB LeSean McCoy in Buffalo, as well as a one-year deal worth up to $13 million for DE Greg Hardy, who faces suspension in light of his involvement in a domestic abuse case.
