Press Release:
December 1, 2015 – The Dallas-based sports agency, Ballengee Group, LLC is pleased to announce that Jeff Borris has joined their ranks, effective December 1, 2015, signaling another huge move for baseball’s top up-and-coming agency. A well known heavy-hitter in the baseball representation business, Borris brings experience of representing some of the games most prolific players over the last 30 years to Ballengee Group.
“I am thrilled to begin the next exciting chapter of my career with Ballengee Group. I believe they have built something that is going to lead the way in this business for the next 20 years and I am privileged to help support such a talented group of agents and industry professionals.”
“I think it speaks volumes when someone like Jeff Borris wants to come aboard and be a part of what we are doing. Jeff is one of the all-time greats in our business and another world-class addition that helps ensure our clients are always in the best position possible,” said Scott Barber, director of Ballengee Group’s baseball division.
Borris fits easily on the Mt. Rushmore of baseball agents, having negotiated over $1 billion in MLB contracts and having a personal arbitration history that is unmatched in the industry. Before embarking on a career that would see him break the salary barrier on numerous occasions and become a long-time owner of the Beverly Hills Sports Council, Jeff earned his JD from Southwestern Law School, where he was later an adjunct professor of Sports Law for 9 years.
“Our mission is to surround our players with the best resources, guidance and services and Jeff is another example of that. His experience and results working with veteran players in areas of arbitration and free agency is second to none and a perfect addition to our team,” says CEO, James Ballengee.
The addition of Borris is just the latest example of Ballengee Group’s continued growth and their commitment to providing best-in-class services to elite athletes that not only strive to be difference makers in their sport, but also seek to lead a life of significance. Although the agency is already proving to be among the elite when it comes to the draft and working with some of the top young players in the game, the addition of Borris sends a message to the industry that they intend to be elite in areas of arbitration and free agency as well.
