Friday Wrap-Up

Shabbat Shalom: Friday Wrap-up (12/23/2016)

Took the week off for a vacation in the Caribbean Sea that included stops in Cozumel, Falmouth, Grand Cayman and Labadee. Today is a sea day and then back to Miami tomorrow. It was a very welcome vacation, but I’m still finding a pocket of time to push this weekly wrap-up of sports business-related links to you. I also found time last Saturday, at the beginning of the cruise, to cheer on the Miami Dolphins, led by backup quarterback Matt Moore, as they beat the New York Jets. Rivalry games are always enjoyable no matter what, and that is especially the case with the Dolphins franchise that is surprisingly in the chase for an AFC playoffs spot. Today is also an important day for me, as one year from today I will be marrying my fiancee in Boca, Florida. Thankfully, the venue has already been chosen and the deposit has been delivered. That said, if I hear the word photographer one more time, I may lose my mind.

Well the year has almost come to a close and that means everyone should buckle up and finish strong. Let’s also look forward to another very promising year in 2017. Quick hit – here’s a post I wrote last year looking at what I thought would be strengths in sports business in 2016: A Few Biz Thoughts As We Head Into 2016. How do you think I did with my predictions?

Quick shout out to Resort casino offer for keeping the lights on at SAB this week.

This past week on Forbes, I had my weekly Sports Law column: This Week In Sports Law: Raiders Stadium, FIFA Bribes Cost Company $113 Million, New Baylor Lawsuit

And as always, the weekly wrap-up:
