According to Darren Rovell, New York Giants rookie running back Saquon Barkley has made a change in his marketing representation. He has left Roc Nation Sports and turned to CAA to handle his marketing endeavors. However, Roc Nation and agent Kim Miale will still handle his contract negotiations and all football matters.
Roc Nation helped negotiate his rookie deal with the Giants – a four-year deal worth a fully-guaranteed $31.2 million with $20.8 of that via signing bonus. Barkley recently made headlines for his spending habits, or lack thereof. After buying his mother a house, he said that he is saving and investing the money earned from his contract (a cool $7.75 million per year). He will live off his endorsement deals, which he has with companies such as Nike, Pepsi and Panini among others.
CAA has a football client list of some of football’s biggest names, including Julio Jones, J.J. Watt, DeAndre Hopkins, Matt Ryan, Philip Rivers, Dak Prescott and Drew Brees among others.
The second overall pick looks to right the Giants’ ship after a 3-13 record in 2017.
