SE Missouri State (Rodney Hamilton) (1-2) vs. Culver-Stockton

Southeast Missouri put five players in double figures on the way to an 89-50 win over Culver-Stockton. The visiting Wildcats stayed in the game for 15-minutes but the Redhawks pulled out of a 28-28 tie with 4:38 remaining, to go on a 16-4 run to take a 44-32 halftime lead.

Marquette (Scott Monarch) (3-0) vs. Milwaukee

Wesley Matthews scored 25 points and Lazar Hayward had a career-high 25 points and 10 rebounds as No. 17 Marquette continued its dominance over Wisconsin-Milwaukee with a 100-80 triumph on Saturday. Jerel McNeal had 22 points and five steals and Dominic James added 16 and eight assists for the Golden Eagles (3-0), who have won all 36 meetings between the two schools which are separated by four miles. The winning streak is the second-longest active stretch against one opponent – Syracuse has beaten Colgate 42 straight times.

Tennessee Tech (Steve Payne) (3-0) vs. Southern Utah

Junior Will Barnes hit one free throw with six seconds left to give the Tennessee Tech men’s basketball team a one point lead, and the Golden Eagles held on to claim a 69-68 non-conference win over Southern Utah as senior Daniel Northern blocked a last-ditch shot by the Thunderbirds to preserve the margin. Northern’s fourth block of the night thwarted the Thunderbirds (1-2), who had covered the length of the court before the buzzer.

Louisiana-Lafayette (Robert Lee) (0-3) @ Utah Valley

Utah Valley began the second half shooting 8-of-9 from the field to spark a 22-4 run which helped the hosts extend an 11-point halftime lead and coast to a 71-41 victory over Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajuns men’s basketball team here Saturday evening at the McKay Center. La’Ryan Gary made a layup with 18:57 remaining to trim the Cajuns deficit to 36-24. Turnovers and missed shots kept the Cajuns off the board and UVU rattled off 13 consecutive points to put the game out of reach at 49-24 with 14:47 left to play.

Savannah State (Horace Broadnax) (4-0) vs. New Orleans

Chris Linton led Savannah State with 16 points in a 54-44 win against New Orleans on Saturday. The Privateers (4-0) trailed 27-20 at halftime before having a big second half for the win. Savannah State, who shot just 25 percent (7 of 28) in the first half, connected on 50 percent (13 of 26) in the second.

UIC (Tracy Dildy) (1-2) vs. Depaul

Depaul freshman Jeremiah Kelly hit a 3 to break a 59-all tie with 2:02 left and Will Walker scored 17 points as DePaul held on to defeat Illinois-Chicago 67-63 on Saturday. Josh Mayo had 23 points for Illinois-Chicago and Scott Vandermeer had 12 points and five blocked shots.

Bowling

Michael Wolfe managed to outlast a first-of-its-kind weeklong shootout to be crowned the Ultimate Scoring Champion at Taylor Lanes, the fifth stop on the Lumber Liquidators PBA Tour which was taped on Nov. 16 and aired on ESPN on Nov. 23.

Wolfe of New Albany, Ind., struck in the fourth-seventh frames of the championship match to defeat Mike Scroggins of Amarillo, Texas, 246-206, to win his fourth career title. Wolfe defeated Bill O’Neill and Scroggins beat Robert Smith in the semifinals.

Wolfe, Scroggins, and Smith are all Dynasty clients. Congratulations!
