Dallas Cowboys defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence agreed to a five-year, $105 million dollar contract extension. Lawrence is represented by agent David Canter of DEC Management.
The deal has $65 million guaranteed. He’ll make more money in the first year of his contract, $31.1M, than any non-QB in NFL History.
The Cowboys franchised tagged Lawrence for the second year in a row at the beginning of March. Canter and Lawrence made it apparent they wanted a long-term deal in place for next season. Lawrence earned $17.1 million on the tag last year. Over the past two seasons Lawrence has 25 sacks and has been voted to the Pro Bowl twice.
