Range Media Partners, the management and production company founded in 2020 by former CAA executives Peter Micelli and Jack Whigham, continues its rapid expansion with the acquisition of Stoked Management Group. The move aims to further enhance Range Media’s presence in the sports industry and solidify its position as a major player in Hollywood and beyond.
Announced on Monday, this strategic acquisition brings together two powerhouses in the sports and entertainment world, uniting Range Media’s expertise in talent management and production with Stoked Management’s impressive roster of athletes and its founder, Lowell Taub, who is hailed as one of the most recognized sports agents in the industry.
Lowell Taub, the founder of Stoked Management in 2020, has an illustrious career spanning almost three decades. He has brokered over half a billion dollars in partnerships for athletes across various sports, including the Olympics, football, basketball, soccer, tennis, golf, and action sports. Taub’s remarkable achievements have earned him a well-deserved place on the prestigious Sports Business Journal’s “Forty Under 40” list.
Clients making the transition under this acquisition include world champion surfer John Florence, Peloton sensation and influencer Kendall Toole, Olympic track star Gabrielle Thomas, and many more notable names.
“Lowell is a uniquely talented leader with an impeccable reputation. We are excited to have him and the rest of the Stoked team lead our Athlete Marketing practice and accelerate the growth of our broader Range Sports platform,” said Range Sports co-presidents Will Funk and Greg Luckman.
Before his tenure at Stoked, Lowell Taub spent 13 years at Creative Artists Agency (CAA), where he served as the head of sports endorsements. This experience came after CAA acquired his previous management company, GFHF Marketing & Management, which he founded in 2005. During his career, Taub has represented some of the biggest names in sports, including Olympian swimmer Ryan Lochte and skiing legend Bode Miller.
Taub expressed his excitement about the acquisition, saying, “Leading Stoked the past three years has been everything I had hoped for when we launched. I have been inspired by Range’s growth during the same period and I could not be more thrilled to join such an impressive team. Range’s collaborative culture and expansive shared services platform are the perfect home for Stoked to continue to provide best-in-class services and results for our clients.”
Range’s recent successes include partnerships with production shingle Automatik, securing industry heavyweights Brian Kavanaugh-Jones and Fred Berger as partners and co-presidents of film and production, and involvement in exciting projects such as Jeff Nichols’ “The Bikeriders,” Oz Perkins’ “Longlegs,” Jonathan Entwistle’s “Fred & Ginger,” and James Mangold’s “A Complete Unknown.”
