Watch The 2009 UF Sports Law Symposium Live At SportsAgentBlog.com

2009 UF Sports Law SymposiumIf you cannot make it to beautiful, 55 degree, Gainesville, Florida for Friday’s 2009 UF Sports Law Symposium, but still want to get full access to the discussion, we are going to do our best to provide it for you right here live on this website.  I have never experimented with live feeds before, but I figure I might as well give it a shot.  While we anticipate a great turnout to the event, I have received emails from many people throughout the world expressing their desire to attend, but due to some unfortunate circumstance (usually distance and money), cannot make the trip to Titletown, USA.  This post will be my attempt to satisfy your desires!  Check back in to this post at 12:00 p.m. EST on Friday, January 23, 2009 and hopefully the live feed will be up and running below.  There also should be a chat feature, which will allow you to converse with others who are also accessing the live feed.  One last note: You may be able to see us testing the live feed prior to the event.  The official event will not begin until 12:00 p.m. Friday.

By Darren Heitner

Darren Heitner created Sports Agent Blog as a New Year's Resolution on December 31, 2005. Originally titled, "I Want To Be A Sports Agent," the website was founded with the intention of causing Heitner to learn more about the profession that he wanted to join, meet reputable individuals in the space and force himself to stay on top of the latest news and trends.

Heitner now runs Heitner Legal, P.L.L.C., which is a law firm with many practice areas, including sports law and contract law. Heitner has represented numerous athletes and sports agents as legal counsel. He has also served as an Adjunct Professor at Indiana University Bloomington from 2011-2014, where he created and taught a course titled, Sport Agency Management, which included subjects ranging from NCAA regulations to athlete agent certification and the rules governing the profession. Heitner serves as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Florida Levin College of Law, where he teaches a Sports Law class that includes case law surrounding athlete agents and the NCAA rules.
