Mike Conley Sr. (father of Ohio State freshman star, Mike Conley Jr.) has officially filed paperwork to be a registered Sports Agent. Is this a controversial move?
On March 22nd, contributor Matt Allinson noted that Conley Sr. had formed his own sports agency, called MAC Management Group [Top Players Will & Should Turn Pro]. Well the paperwork has now been signed and sent, and Conley Sr. will soon be officially a recognized agent in the industry.
It is extremely likely that in the near future, Conley Sr. will be representing his son along with Greg Oden and Daequan Cook, among others. Is there anything remotely wrong about this situation, though? Conley Sr. used to coach all three players. Like Dan Wetzel of Yahoo! Sports, I wonder and ask you all, is this a good thing that a former coach turned agent is hanging around a college campus, or is it frightening? The plus is that he is knowledgeable about the game and has coach Matta’s respect, but is that enough to alleviate an otherwise uncomfortable situation?
