Baltimore, Md. – Dec. 9, 2007, Mike DeVaney came back from what looked like an insurmountable deficit after only two frames to win the four-bowler shootout, which kicked off the final round of the Lumber Liquidators Championship at AMF Country Club Lanes. DeVaney went on to beat 4th seed, Rhino Page, easily and 3rd seed, Mike Wolfe, by a pin. Mike started off the night as the 7th seed and ended up in 3rd place after Wes Malott knocked him out of the tournament.
DeVaney has been ranked Top 11 in PBA points for the past two years. The Lumber Liquidators Championship is the second televised final round appearance for DeVaney in this young bowling season.
ESPN announcers had fun calling Mike, “Monkey Boy”, as he continued to knock competitors down one by one in the laddered event. The bowling world should be anticipating Monkey Boy’s quick return to the national spotlight.
