Carnival of the NBA #49

MVN has now had two of its sites consecutively host the Carnival, this time with it being posted to you by the blog, Passion and Pride. The title of Carnival #49 is: Bloggers Banquet. Jon sure does serve up a feast [Carnival of the NBA #49].

I Want to be a Sports Agent made it into the carnival with our recent post on LeBron James and his role in a new marketing company called LRMR Innovative Marketing and Branding [The King And His Court]. Last Carnival, our post was featured at the top. This time, it seems like they saved the best for last…placing us near the bottom. No hatred, though.

Let me now take this time to fill up some space by suggesting that if you are an agent, you should check out our Agencies page and our Internships page. If your agency is not listed at all on the Agencies page, shoot me an e-mail with the URL to your site and your office locations. If your agency provides internships and you are not listed on the Internships page, also feel free to send me a message with the information that should be posted.

By Darren Heitner

Darren Heitner created Sports Agent Blog as a New Year's Resolution on December 31, 2005. Originally titled, "I Want To Be A Sports Agent," the website was founded with the intention of causing Heitner to learn more about the profession that he wanted to join, meet reputable individuals in the space and force himself to stay on top of the latest news and trends.

Heitner now runs Heitner Legal, P.L.L.C., which is a law firm with many practice areas, including sports law and contract law. Heitner has represented numerous athletes and sports agents as legal counsel. He has also served as an Adjunct Professor at Indiana University Bloomington from 2011-2014, where he created and taught a course titled, Sport Agency Management, which included subjects ranging from NCAA regulations to athlete agent certification and the rules governing the profession. Heitner serves as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Florida Levin College of Law, where he teaches a Sports Law class that includes case law surrounding athlete agents and the NCAA rules.
