1. Houston Texans offensive lineman Chester Pitts was free on bail Friday one day after he was arrested and charged with speeding off during a traffic stop near Reliant Stadium [Pitts free on bail after arrest]. Pitts was released from the city jail early Friday after posting bail, according to a jail attendant. He is scheduled to appear in court Monday. Pitts is facing a charge of felony evading arrest in a motor vehicle, Houston Police Department spokeswoman Gabe Ortiz said.

2. Smush Parker was on the Miami Heat inactive list again Friday night, while the team investigated an altercation earlier in the week between the guard and a valet parking attendant [Parker still not with team…]. Parker is not expected to travel with Miami on Saturday. He has not been suspended by the team but will remain inactive until the team completes its look into what happened. Police have said Parker got into an argument Tuesday morning over whether he had paid a $12 valet parking fee at a condominium. He has not been charged, but an incident report was filed by a female attendant who alleged she was assaulted by Parker. The woman is also planning a civil suit against Parker.j

3. Phoenix Coyotes defenseman Ed Jovanovski has been suspended for one game for striking forward Marian Gaborik on the head during a 3-1 loss to the Minnesota Wild, the NHL said on Friday [Jovanovski suspended…]. Jovanovski, an 11-year NHL veteran, was assessed a two-minute roughing penalty at 19:43 of the third period Wednesday. The 31-year-old Jovanovski will forfeit $34,759.36 in salary, the league said. He was set to miss Friday’s game at Chicago.

4. Police are investigating an incident that took place Friday at Homestead-Miami Speedway involving NASCAR driver Kasey Kahne and an unidentified security guard. Following Friday’s final practice, Kahne allegedly pushed the guard to the ground over an argument about a credential for Kahne’s brother, Kale. Kahne reportedly is under investigation by the Homestead Police Department [Kahne under investigation…].
