Take Your Pick: Rosenhaus or Boras

Drew Rosenhaus

You’re on a boat with Drew Rosenhaus and Scott Boras, and the boat is sinking. The raft – which is yours – only fits two. Who you got?

I loved the question so much, that I had to duplicate it here. I have to credit TBL for the idea. Here are some of the humorous comments that were left at TheBigLead..

  • Put them both in the raft, then shoot holes in it until it sinks. Sit in the sinking ship and wait for the coast gaurd. Even if you go down with the sinking ship, at least you saved the world from these tools. You will be remembered as a hero.
  • Will the raft hold me, the agent and his ego?
  • The correct answer is provided my Montogmery Burns:

“For the love of God sir, there are two seats!”
“I like to put my feet up.”

  • Does it matter which one you pick? We all know they are just going to hold out for a better offer and drown anyways

Darren Heitner created Sports Agent Blog as a New Year's Resolution on December 31, 2005. Originally titled, "I Want To Be A Sports Agent," the website was founded with the intention of causing Heitner to learn more about the profession that he wanted to join, meet reputable individuals in the space and force himself to stay on top of the latest news and trends.

Heitner now runs Heitner Legal, P.L.L.C., which is a law firm with many practice areas, including sports law and contract law. Heitner has represented numerous athletes and sports agents as legal counsel. He has also served as an Adjunct Professor at Indiana University Bloomington from 2011-2014, where he created and taught a course titled, Sport Agency Management, which included subjects ranging from NCAA regulations to athlete agent certification and the rules governing the profession. Heitner serves as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Florida Levin College of Law, where he teaches a Sports Law class that includes case law surrounding athlete agents and the NCAA rules.

Say what you will about Rosenhaus, but if he’s on your side — and he’s more approachable than he might seem — he will go to the absolute wall for you.

I know that’s said of a lot of successful agents out there, and it’s also most certainly true of many, but it’s rarely said about Rosenhaus.

Jerry Jones has become the darling of the media over the last decade but he’s no different whatsoever — he wants to always win and his first loyalties are to those closest to him. It’s a very tough business, and as a person who knows many agents (some famous and some infamous), there are many, many agents I’d trust less than Drew.
