One Million Page Views Contest

If you would have told me on December 31, 2005 (when I first started this blog, originally named I Want to be a Sports Agent and located at www.dhpromo.com/blog) that this site would eventually reach a total of one-million page views, I most likely would have laughed hysterically.  This site was created before the big “blog movement”, when most blogs were personal journals where people could share thoughts and happenings in their lives with their friends.  I think that I was on to something in creating this site, and the numbers are the proof in the pudding.

As a thanks to all of you who have helped this site become what it is today, I want to run a contest leading up to our one-millionth page view.  All you have to do is take a screenshot of our sitemeter page, listing you as the one-millionth page view visitor.  Chances are that the one-millionth page view will not document it, so if you are a few page views late, I suggest taking the screenshot and sending it over, anyway.  We have prizes to give away!

The visitor with the screenshot closest to one-million page views (must be above one-million, not below, unlike The Price is Right rules) that sends in such an image before midnight of the day that we reach the benchmark will receive a couple of nice prizes.  We are offering a copy of GIANT: The Road to the Super Bowl by Plaxico Burress and a copy of EA Sports’ new boxing game, FaceBreaker.

Go to this Sitemeter page, press the “Print Screen” button on your keyboard, open an email, paste the image of the page view count, and send it here.  Good luck!

Update: We have another prize to add to the collection.  The winner will also receive a copy of Money Players by Marc Isenberg.  He’ll even throw his signature on it!

Update 2: As of 12:30 p.m. on Sept 23, there are less than 1,000 page views before we reach 1 million.  Be on the lookout!

FINAL UPDATE: CONGRATULATIONS TO CORBIN VAIL and KFIR GOLDBERG (SOMEHOW THEY BOTH GOT THE SAME SCREENSHOT) FOR SENDING ME A SCREENSHOT AS THE 1,000,000th PAGE VIEW.  THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR SUBMISSIONS.

This site has been an invaluable resource for me and has helped me learn almost everything I needed and wanted to know about being an agent. I’m really happy to be a part of the growth of this site and to be able to contribute my insight here and there. 1,000,000 page views is a big deal for any small site like this one, and I’m glad people feel that this site has content worth checking out a couple of times a week.
