Let’s Make A Deal Wrap-Up

The Let’s Make a Deal (LMAD) column was a very big success here on SportsAgentBlog. Many people thoroughly enjoyed playing the role of General Manager for various NFL teams. I would like to thank you all for your participation! Now let’s take a look on how I did:

Sam Bradford, QB, St. Louis Rams (1st overall)

Signed a 6-year, $78 million contract with $50 million guaranteed. [ESPN]

My requested contract on LMAD for Bradford was indeed 6 years, $78 million with $50 million guaranteed. [SAB]

Ndamukong Suh, DT, Detroit Lions (2nd overall)

Signed a 5-year deal worth about $68 million with $40 million guaranteed. [Source]

I predicted a 5-year, $65.5 million contract. [SAB]

Gerald McCoy, DT, TB Buccaneers (3rd overall)

Signed a 5-year, $63.42 million contract with $35 million guaranteed. [ESPN]

When I made my prediction for Eric Berry, I did it with him going 3rd overall. I never got around to updating it with Berry’s 5th overall spot. However, the contract I predicted for Berry in the 3rd overall spot was 5-years, $62 million with $35 million guaranteed. As you can see here, I wasn’t so far off!

Trent Williams, OT, Washington Redskins — NONE

Eric Berry, S, Kansas City Chiefs (5th overall)

Signed a contract for 6-year, $60 million with $34 mil guaranteed.

I predicted his contract to be: 5 years, $62 million with $35 guaranteed. Although I predicted this amount, I wrote the article as if Berry went 3rd overall to the Buccaneers.

Overall, I did fairly well. I am pretty happy that I nailed the Sam Bradford contract right on the head. I am looking forward to making this column better next year. Thanks again for all the participation!
