Excel Sports Management just lost a client in Houston Astros OF, L.J. Hoes.  However, the New York-based agency just made up for it — albeit in a different sport — with the signing of Brooklyn Nets guard, Shaun Livingston.

Excel President and Agent, Jeff Schwartz, and Agent Sean Kennedy will represent the Peoria, Ill. native, who was formerly represented by CAA Sports.

Livingston opted out of signing with Duke University and instead entered the 2004 NBA Entry Draft where the Los Angeles Clippers drafted him No. 4 overall.  The NBA journeyman is averaging 6.3 PPG, 3.0 APG, and 2.4 RPG in 2013.

Excel Sports, according to a recent FORBES.com story, is the world’s No. 5 most valuable sports agency.  Its client list spans across all sports and includes superstar athletes like Tiger Woods, Derek Jeter, Blake Griffin, and Zack Greinke.  Excel also represents Deron Williams and Paul Pierce, both teammates of Livingston.
