Kansas’ Freshmen Duo Signs Representation For 2014 NBA Draft

Wasserman Media Group, according to a recent sports business article, has the most valuable basketball division of any sports agency in the world.  The signing of future lottery pick and University of Kansas center, Joel Embiid, will only add to that distinction.

The ex-Jayhawk signed with Wasserman’s Vice Chairman and NBPA Certified Contract Advisor, Arn Tellem.  In his first and only season in Lawrence, Kansas, Embiid averaged 11.2 PPG and 8.1 RPG while he shot almost 63% from the floor.  DraftExpress.com’s 2014 NBA Mock Draft has Embiid getting drafted No. 2 overall.  Wasserman’s basketball division includes the likes of Chicago Bulls Derrick Rose, the Portland Trailblazers LaMarcus Aldridge, and Oklahoma City Thunder’s Russell Westbrook.

Embiid’s counterpart, freshman Andrew Wiggins, also secured representation prior to the 2014 Draft, signing with Bill Duffy of BDA Sports.  This past season, Wiggins scored 17.1 PPG to go along with 5.9 RPG.  Following the 2013-14 campaign, Wiggins earned First Team All-Big 12 honors in addition to being named Big 12 Freshman of the Year.  He is slated to be one of the top-3 overall selections in the upcoming draft.

Last year, the University of Kansas had one player taken in the first round (No. 7 overall – Sacramento Kings – SG Ben McLemore).
