According to The Sun, former One Direction singer, Niall Horan, has stepped away from the music industry to launch a player management firm, specializing in the representation of professional golfers. Horan’s goal is to discover British and Irish talent with the assistance of former One Direction management team, Modest.
The firm, named Modest Golf Management, has also already brought Mark McDonnell, formerly an account manager at TaylorMade, on board to serve as the Director of Golf Management. Horan and Mcdonnell’s connection dates back to as early as 2012, when McDonnell made a donation for the charitable Niall Horan Golf Classic. Horan describes McDonnell as a “legend in the industry” who will help with endorsement.
This might be Horan’s first try as an agent, but he has already put in the time to learn about the golf industry. He was caddying for Rory Mcllroy in the Par 3 tournament before last April’s US Masters when he had his infamous comedy slip over the live telly while carrying Mcllroy’s clubs.
Horan is an avid fan of golf and enjoys playing as often as he can. He hopes to turn his love for golf into a lucrative business.
