Stellar Group Launching Stellar USA Division

Stellar Group Limited is a London-based soccer agency that has negotiated nearly 150 active soccer (football) players. According to Forbes, the agency represents 96 clients whose contracts total $375.21 million.

The agency is looking to reach a new level by launching an American division, aptly called Stellar USA. While the parent company represents one type of football players, Stellar USA will initially concentrate on American football and look to represent NFL players before venturing into other popular US sports. Stellar brings a global approach to the agency business and not only will it look for marketing and endorsement opportunities for US clients, but also for its international clients in the States.

Licensed NFL and NBA agent Reggie Johnson will lead the new division. “In the US it is common for agents to appear when contracts need to be signed then disappear before the ink is dry. What Stellar does is offer a full 360-degree service so athletes know we are taking care of everything that is in their interests – negotiations, legal matters, image rights, endorsements and so on – leaving them to concentrate on performing and winning,” he said.

Stellar Group Chairman Jonathan Barnett made news in the soccer industry back in December 2016 when he facilitated a world-record transfer of soccer player Gareth Bale from Tottenham to Real Madrid. Barnett’s commission from the transfer amounted to £14 million or roughly $17,561,740. He was ranked the number three most powerful agent in football (soccer) according to an article in The Telegraph.
