Katie Zelem, superstar midfielder out of Manchester United has become the first Manchester United women’s player to ever be represented by Adidas. The endorsement’s terms, negotiated by Akin Caulker of The Athletic Network, have not been disclosed but the deal is believed to be among the most lucrative in the FA Women’s Super League this year.
Zelem announced the news on her Instagram: “Since a little girl I always wanted to dream bigger.. and they don’t get much bigger than this.” The deal shows a continued investment by major brands to elevate women’s soccer all around the world. Zelem is now poised to star in future Adidas commercials with the likes of James Harden, Lionel Messi and Aaron Judge.
