New Balance has been steadily getting more involved in the basketball scene over the past several years. Currently their client roster includes reigning NBA Finals MVP Kawhi Leonard, Dejounte Murray and Darius Bazley among others. Recently, the brand took another huge step in agreeing to a multi-year global agreement with the NBA as an official marketing partner as reported by Liz Mullen of Sports Business Journal.
The move is a massive one for New Balance and follows the positive trend they have been having in the industry over the past years. The agreement allows the brand to increase exposure and broaden its impact with NBA fans across the world. Chris Davis, Vice President of Global Marketing at New Balance said that “this relationship ingrains New Balance into the NBA’s global presence, a fandom and culture that transcends sport…”.
The agreement has lined up perfectly with the promotion of Kawhi Leonard’s first signature show and the “We Got Now” campaign the company has been running.
